The 2012 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) annual International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange will be held from March 4 to 7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) – South Building.

Every year, the PDAC convention brings tens of thousands of people together from all different sectors of the mining community, including retail and institutional investors, analysts and newsletter writers, exploration managers, prospectors, brokers, financiers, junior and senior mining execs and personnel, geoscientists, students, and mining media.

“The convention has really hit its stride in terms of its place in the global mineral industry. In 2011, we had over 27,000 participants from 120 different countries—we’re seeing very strong interest again this year, both at home and internationally,” said PDAC President Scott Jobin-Bevans. “Early registration numbers are up from last year, reflecting both the health of the mineral industry—the sector is doing extremely well considering the uncertainty in many industries and markets around the world—and the tremendous networking and educational opportunities the convention offers.”

Conference attendees will have several other engaging Technical Session presentations and panels, including New Gold Mines and Projects in the Canadian ShieldSelected Mineral Deposits in the Central Asian Orogenic BeltSpecialty Metals and Minerals, and New Discoveries & Developments.

The Investors Exchange provides attendees interested in resource investment with an opportunity to meet with major mining firms, mid-level producers, junior exploration companies, prospectors, brokerage houses, financial institutions, and stock exchanges. Nearly 700 exhibitors will be present, including prospectors displaying maps and samples in the Prospectors Tent. A visit to theCore Shack offers convention participants a hands-on experience with 60 deposits from around the world.
